Ocean Pier Report

 

 

 

 
Tons of Spanish and Blues on Gotcha Plugs (red and white as well as electric chicken).  A few of Sea Mullet at night on shrimp and Fishbites.
 
 
1 king 21.2 lbs, A few Spansh and Blues.  Just a few Mullets and Spots.  The NE wind has hurt them this week.  Some nice Black Drum
 
 
Some nice reds and Blacks as well as a few Sheepshead.   Just a few Spansih and Blues.
 
Conclusion
 

The NE winds have screwed the fishing up this week.  Hopefully we will have some clearer water this weekend.

Offshore Report 20 Miles – 200 Fathoms

 

 

 

Mahi are thick and big in most locations.  Ballyhoo on BWC skirts in blue and white or pink.  Some nice Wahoo mixed in (BWC Tweeners).  Some bills are starting to move around too.

Still plenty of Spanish as well as Blues just off the beach.  Cobi following schools of Pogys (divers and Dallas rock)  Live bait as well as bucktails.  Lots of Sea Bass 10 miles.  Kings have started making a showing with good numbers of schoolies.  AmberJack at Divers Rock.

Reds inside with Gulp Peeler Crabs.  172 bridge is eat up with Black Drum (shrimp on the bottom and an incoming tide)  Lots of specks way up the river (storm shrimp).  Blues in the Bays.

Tons of Spanish and Blues on Gotcha Plugs (red and white as well as electric chicken).  A few of Sea Mullet at night on shrimp and Fishbites.
 
 
1st King on the pier Monday 15lbs and missed one.  Still tons of Spanish with Gotchas (red/white, white on white and electric chicken).  Just a few Mullet at night.
 
 
Tons of Spanish and Blues on Gotcha Plugs (white and chart).  Saw Cobia yesterday. 
 
Conclusion
 

If you want Spanish NOW is the time.

The grouper is Hot, Hot, Hot.  Roscoe Jigs by BWC are the heat.  A great video below.  Marlin bite is heating up around the 400 line. and a few Sails have been had.

I think the Bonita are gone but the BIG Spanish have moved in.  All you want.  Clark Spoons (#1 and 1/0), Yo-Zuri Deepdivers (Clown and pink), Don’s Jigs.
 
Sea Bass just below them on the near shore reefs.

Scott Ericson and I had a great day in the stream yesterday.  We manages 6 big Mahi (ballyhoo with b/w seawitches), 2 large red Grouper (roscoe jigs), a limit of pinkys (roscoe jigs), some nice Triggers (roscoes), 1 Blackfin (cedar plug), and a Tripletail (cut bait).  The other boat with us managed 4 nice Wahoo and a couple Mahi.  Should be good today as well.

The Bonita are starting to move out but the big Spanish are taking their place.  We did really well the other morning with Dons Jigs casting to the birds.  John Malette caught a ton of Bonita the other morning a little further out than the rest of us.
