March 29th, 2010
Well the weather was a bit off this weekend but a few brave soles managed to venture out. The creeks are still full of Red and Black drum as well as a few Specks starting to show up. Heard of some nice flounder from the stump sound area caught hook and line. The Bonita are at 18 miles and heading our way. Heard of some Wahoo and Blackfin in the stream but not this weekend. Not much on the surf yet but a couple of Mullet here and there. A few Mullets and Puffers on the piers. Surf City pier is now open as well as Jolly Roger and Sea View. Check out my Live Pier Cam

The reds on the shoals are still chewing. Ther reds in the creeks are on fire as well as a few black drum mixed in. There is a really nice break at the Swansboro Hole 33.51.016 X 76.32.290. There will be some Wahoo caught there. Sea View pier and Jolly Roger are open. They report a few Sea Mullet but nothing to get excied about.

The sweet spot is Swansboro Hole 33.51.016 X 76.32.290

With the warmer weather we are seeing more and more activity. The creeks have begun to come alive with minnows and lots of reds feeding on em. Phil and 2 other boats caught 300+ reds the other day. The Reds just off the beach on the shoals are chewin hard too. Black drum have been showing up in the ICW as well as in the creeks.
The big news is the Wahoo in the stream. There is some pretty 70 deg water just over the swansboro hole and they have been there thick. There will probably be some Yellow Fin mixed in there too.
