Well the cold weather has finally broken but it has brought plenty of rain with it. The creeks are full up and the bits is a bit slow on the backside. When you can locate them the Specks and Reds are starting to chew a little but you need to fish SLOW. Pink baits on the bottom with almost no weight seem to be the ticket in the creeks.
There are tons of reds on the shoals out of Topsail and Riches. Gulps fished slow with the occasional hard twitch seem to be the ticket.
A few Black Drum on the surf but nothing to write home about.
Good Fishing Yall!!!!

Well the weather has broken just a little and the reds are starting to move a bit. The flats just off of Topsail and Riches inlet are alive with big schools of reds. They are still a bit cold but they will bite when the temps get up a bit. White Gulp and Mirrolures in 808 are the heat.
The specks are starting to bite a little inside as well.

The new year has broght with it some very cold weather. Most of the fishing has slowed to a crawl. There are a few Specks in the surf but it is hard to get them to eat. There are some Mullets in the surf as well. The reds are eating as the sun heats the flats up late in the afternoon but they are covered with ice.
Specks are biting in the sound but the bite window is very narrow. We need some warmer weather to really get the fishing cranked up.
Tight Lines Yall
