I have to show off my lil Guy. His first Bass
They are starting to catch Spots on the piers. Surf City caught them 2 at a timet night from a few second hand reports. The Mullet bite has on fire for Sea View Pier. Good sized fish 2 at a time once and a while. Lots of Pompano around.
The surf is producing good catches of Red Drum at the south end. There are lots of big Blues around as well. The blues are still blitzing at sunset. Mullet catches are spotty but if you find them they are good sized. Some 5 lb Pompano around too.
Kings are thick at about 15 miles. Grays at the nearshore reefs.
Specks showing up inside and still plenty of Reds.

Me with some pretty blues
The piers are reporting a slowing of Spots. We need a good North East blow to push em up on the beach. The commercial boats are catching them offshore but the thousands. The piers are catching good numbers of Pompano and Blues. There are a few Specks and Red Drum as well.
The surf has a ton of Blues. I got into a great Blitz yesterday with 3 & 4 pound fish. Hopkins on trout gear Man fun. Every cast for about 30 minutes. I am enjoying smoked Bluefish today.
Inside the Trout fishing is heating up and the Reds are holding steady.
No reports from offshore.

Ed Lore with a nice King off his Pier.
The Piers are killing the Spots 2 at a time. Best Spot run we have sen in 5 years. They are off and on during the day but full bore at night. The Blues and Spanish are also biting well.
The surf is producing lots of Spots, Mullets and Pompano. The Reds are on fire at the south end as well as the Blues.
Just off the beach the Grays are still on fire at Surf City Ledges, Divers Rock, and just north if New River inlet. You can find plenty of Spanish and False Albies just off the beach as well. Just below the grays are the big Red Drum (40+ pound fish). Kings are also in the same locations.
Offshore the reports have been slim as the winds kept everybody on the hill.
Inshore the reds are still on fire and a few Specks are starting to show up.

Wow where to begin, This weekend has been great for not only fishing but catching. It seems that most everything is biting.
Spots are biting on all the piers 2 at at time at one time or another and some all day and all night. You can even catch them in the surf. Jolly Roger is seeing one of the best Flounder bites in years.
The Surf is seeing lots of Spots as well as a Blues. The Red Drum bite is still awesome but I can not stress enough to fish close. The Reds are right in the wash at low tide.
Kings and Cobia (Yes Cobia we weighed in 6 yesterday) are all over Surf City Ledges (34.23.99 x 77.30.61) and just inshore of it. Plenty of live bait for them inside at the BC marker and at Queens Grant.
If you are not doing anything with the kings there the Gray Trout are just below them. Hit them with Diamond Jigs and Sting silvers.
Spanish and Albies are all over from just outside the inlet to 40′ of water.
Offshore the Wahoo bite is still going strong. The Swansboro Hole (33.50.032 X 76.32.290) seems to be producing some great catches.

The Spots have slowed down a bit but as soon as the wind switches to the North East they will go on the feed again. You can still catch some but it isn’t fast and furious.
Offshore the Wahoo bite is on fire. Taylor Perdue fished the Swansboro Hole and managed 3 Wahoo 2 of which were citations. So the big boys are out there. I will have some pics on the web site this afternoon.
The surf has tons of Reds and quite a few Mullet.
The inshore King bite is on fire. Surf City Ledges are producing some very nice fish as well as some nice Gray Trout and 30+ lb Reds.
Inshore the Reds continue as well as some nice Flounder. Give us a call to book your offshore or inshore trip. www.topsailcharterfishing.com (910) 358-4912
