Jays King from Surf City Pier
Sea View Pier Reprts 10 Kings so far this week as well as a great bite of Spanish and Blues in the Morning. They are catching Spots and Mullets but are not filling cooler unless you fish all night. I am hearing reports of runs in VA so they are not far away.
Surf City Pier reports Spanish and Blues in the morning. Lots of Va Mullets and Spots. Coolers are being filled if you fish all night. A few nice Kings off the end.
Jolly Roger Reports a few Red Drum some big Kings and a decent Spot and Mullet bite at night.
Just outside the inlets there are Schools of Spanish as well as False Albacore. Just look for the busting fish and birds. On the nearshore reefs there are plenty of big Flounder and the Gray Trout have shown up. Better catch some now before the netters get them.
Offshore the Swansboro Hole has produced a slough of Wahoo as well a great catches of Mahi. There are some Blue Marrlin Eating the Mahi in there too so keep a watchful eye. It is time to get out there and get the planer rods out for the Hoos.
Inshore the big Flouder have shown up and the reds are still on fire. Specks are still a bit elusive but should be showing up soon.
Surf fishing has been great this week wit good catches of Mullets all up and down the island as long as you can find a slough. Reds on the south end as long as you fish shallow and some nice speckled trout early in the morning on topwater, gulps or cut bait. Lea Island has had some good catches of reds at the north end and some specks mixed in.

There are some big Kings just off the beach at the north end. Divers Rock would be a good plce to start looking. There have also been schools of roving Spanish and False Albacore at the north end and south end. The Flounder are just below them.
Inside the reds are heating up as well as some big Flounder. I weighed in some citations for Phil this week as well as for Wayne. The big boys are moving in so book your trip now. Check us out at www.topsailcharterfishing.com or just on our charter fishing page.
